Many are the properties of umeboshi, since it stimulates the intestine, the liver and the gallbladder. This is explained because it has the ability to alkalize our blood and increase our defenses by regulating the ph. Umeboshi paste is made by removing the stone from the ume plum and crushing the flesh of the plum. The efficacy of umeboshi paste is equal to that of umeboshi plum, it can be used for the same purposes.
